You can increase text size in applications and everywhere - default increase in size by going to
right click>properties>appearance>advanced> [ now choose each item and start increasing size for everyone ]
Don't get bothered about changing only the text size of a specific item - hardly text option menu items are 6 -7 in number and changing them will give you an edge in making great themes yourself.
Change the background of windows by selecting your choice of colors; application background color will change.
Change Menu bar text size and all the menu items of all applications will change. Menu bar is the bar with the words - File, Edit, View and all that. Their text size will change.
