Yes, one more thing if you don't want to use Notepad which is not cool. You can use an online html editor, found on the internet "htmledit.squarefree.com". Preference is still Notepad, You will learn to place and assemble and many more things while using notepad.
And just start writing the code.

Write the code in your notepad. It's better to write instead of copying. Because Holistic learning is a better way of learning in which you experience, feel and live everything you do. Anyways, do you as you like.

Anything in <> is called a tag.
Ground rule, when you open a tag i.e. use "<element>" you would've to close the tag with </element> though the rules have a changed a little bit by the creators of html the CERN, Tim Berners Lee and his fellows now managed by W3C organization[w3.org] and everybody who follows W3C recommendations for html is a good programmer. Your page becomes free of errors.
So, as a rule you've to follow the tags syntax, syntax meaning set language. Remember we have to follow it because we are not the creators of html. Though, you can create your own programming language.
As, a rule you begin with " <html> " and you've finished writing the code you close it as mentioned earlier a back slash comes in, like that, </html>
<body> Body tag is where YOU WRITE ALL YOUR Writings and the stuff you SEE and everybody can see </body>.
Note here in the above lines the text has been written in body tags, when you are writing code you will do the same.
