[ENTRY TEST]

SEE ADVERTISEMENT IN THE NEWSPAPER 

Candidates are required to take the NAT-1E conducted by NTS and are also required to submit the result with the application. The results of the tests taken on the following dates will be applicable for admissions:

The test shall be conducted by NTS in all major cities of Pakistan. You are required to directly contact NTS for this test.

visit www.nts.org.pk (for NAT 1-E Test), attach the result sheet of this test with your application for admission or send it later by mentioning that you will send this later.

Availability of Prospectus
On advertisement of admissions, the prospectus along with the application form shall be available from OCS centers throughout the country. You can apply online on the website www.ist.edu.pk from 15th July, 2009 to 19th August, 2009.

A candidate seeking admission to a baccalaureate program at IST must meet the following criteria:


SSC / O-Levels / Equivalent
60%
HSSC / A-Levels / Equivalent
60% (unadjusted)
NAT-IE
50% (50 Marks out of 100)
Age Limit
22 years

Candidates must fulfill the following conditions:
  • HSSC in Pre-Engineering
  • A-Levels in Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry
  • 60% unadjusted marks
Candidates appearing in NAT-1E test being conducted by NTS on 30th  August 2009 are eligible.
Applicants having Computer Studies/Computer Science in lieu of Chemistry in HSSC/A-level are eligible for program of Communication Systems Engineering Only subject to fulfilling other required criteria as mentioned in the prospectus and on the website.
Result awaiting can apply with certificate attested by the Principal of the College/School.

Selection Process
Selection for HSSC/A-Level/Equivalent (Pre Engineering)
Admission shall be granted absolutely on merit which will be determined on the basis of marks obtained in the following examinations, and according to the weightage mentioned against the respective examination:
  • HSSC/A-Level/Equivalent        :               60%
  • NAT-1E                                   :               40%
Reserved seats of Diploma Holders
Candidate for the reserved seats for DAE will be granted admission on the basis of merit and the weightage mentioned below:
  • DAE (Aggregate marks )        :               50%
  • NAT-1E                                   :               30%
  • SSC                                         :               20%

Eligibility


A candidate seeking admissions to a master program at IST must meet the following criteria:

* Graduate Assessment Test (NTS)-General taken after July 01, 2008 with at least 50% marks
* Sixteen years of education with strong background in areas listed with each program, completed in First Division from a higher Education Commission HEC/PEC Recognize institution of Pakistan or from Foreign University of good repute.

The following documents must reach the Admissions Office by the date specified in the press announcement:

Applicants are required to submit score of GAT-General taken by the NTS after July 01, 2008.

Applications should either be sent through registered post or courier service. They may also be submitted directly to the Admissions Office at IST.
*

An application for admission shall not be considered unless submitted on the prescribed form and completed as required.
*

Applicants who fail to report for registration on the specified date shall be considered to have forfeited their chance for admission
*

Original certificates of all examination must be produced at the time of registration
*

If any document received is later found to be false/forged, admission shall be cancelled with immediate effect
*

In case of cancellation of admission/suspension, admission fee and other dues shall not be refunded
*

The Institute shall not be liable to refund the tuition fee and other dues in case candidate is refused visa for studying in the linked universities by the relevant country.
*

The programs mentioned in this prospectus are expression of intent only. The institute reserves the right to discontinue, or make amendments in any of its program or portion without notice.

The Institute has right to have a visa cancelled on the basis of academic or disciplinary grounds.

The students are required to return back to Pakistan after completion of his studies in the relevant countries.

The Institute and linked universities reserve the right to cancel or refuse admission to any applicant without assigning any reason.

Applicant is not eligible to claim for any refund or document without submission of duly signed No Demand Certificate.

· The merit and waiting lists will also be posted on the website and admission letters to the successful applicants will be issued

Visa for Linked University

Acquiring visa for respective foreign country is the sole responsibility of the candidate. However, the Institute will extend all possible assistance in submission of the visa application.

Registration

Before the commencement of classes at each host university, students would be required to register themselves. Registration encompasses of approval of courses from respective academic advisor and payment of fees. The student is required to deposit the entire lump sum amount of tuition fee and registration fee for the semesters before commencement of classes at each campus.
